Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is a widely recognized regional healthcare facility located in Yankton, SD. Serving more than 120,000 residents in a 15-county area in southeastern South Dakota and northeastern Nebraska. ASHH offers over 25 different services including cardiovascular care, medical/surgical care, emergency services, and cancer services. The Medical Staff consists of 65+ physicians including: Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Vascular and General Surgery, ENT, Orthopedics, Nephrology, OBGYN, FP, and more. ASHH provides outreach services through over 10 affiliated sites and over 49 communities.

In addition to supporting the Avera Sacred Heart School of Radiologic Technology, the hospital is affiliated with the Sanford School of Medicine of The University of South Dakota and Mount Marty College nursing and other allied health programs. Company History
More than a century has passed since the light of Avera Sacred Heart Hospital began to shine on Yankton. In 1897, the Benedictine Sisters first opened their doors and began to provide care and compassion to the sick.
Today our light casts a healing glow over 120,000 residents in southeastern South Dakota and northeastern Nebraska and now illuminates a state-of-the-art center of care, always expanding to meet the changing needs of this region. And yet, it is still the same simple light of healing that has always guided our mission: to reach out to those who are hurting.
