Company History
National Diagnostic Imaging (NDI) was founded in 2003 by President and CEO David H. Berns, M.D. in Beachwood, Ohio. NDI is a national provider of sub-specialty teleradiology services. It’s network of radiologists, licensed throughout the country, provide teleradiology services coast to coast.
Dr. Berns is a neuroradiologist and vascular specialist. He is a well-respected authority on MRI and neuroradiology. Prior to founding NDI, Dr. Berns established a strong reputation in the Midwest as President of Drs. Hill & Thomas radiology practice. He has over 30 years of experience in neuroradiology practicing in hospitals and outpatient centers along with a successful portfolio of development of imaging centers and clinic-based radiology projects. Dr. Berns is also skilled in assessing the vascular system, including the peripheral arterial system, having read thousands of MRI studies while consulting with vascular surgeons and internists.
National Diagnostic Imaging provides multi-modality sub-specialty teleradiology services to imaging centers, hospitals, outpatient centers, oncology practices, cardiology practices, orthopedic practices, family and multi-specialty practices. NDI’s expertise includes neurological, musculoskeletal, PET, body and cardiovascular imaging. In addition to professional interpretations, NDI provides image archiving, site development, marketing consultation and its own proprietary PACS program, PACSstar.
NDI utilizes the latest technology, including a PACS designed especially for teleradiology workflow to create an efficient operational model that delivers fast report turnaround. Clients benefit by having a hassle-free experience – no paperwork to fax, or images to re-send multiple times. Reports can be accessed via our referring physician portal. Radiologists are always available for consults and practice a proactive approach to communicating with referring physicians. NDI provides 24 x 7 responsive support.
Our Mission
Since 2003, our mission has been to help our clients deliver exceptional patient care through clinical expertise in our interpretations and attentive, personalized services. We don’t operate as a teleradiology factory, nor do we want to compete with local radiologists. We focus on high quality reports and client interaction and provide teleradiology service and support as needed to help our clients, whether on a full-time, part-time or tele-locums basis. Our clients always receive the type of personalized service you expect from on-site radiologists.
