Description

Join a collegial and diverse group of academic abdominal radiologists in a supportive work environment with dedicated academic time, a well-integrated hybrid work model, and state-of-the-art enterprise-wide informatics infrastructure. Our hybrid work environment offers onsite and at-home workday opportunities that can be tailored to the candidate's needs.

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH) Department of Radiology in Washington, DC is seeking a board-certified and fellowship-trained abdominal imager for a position in an expanding practice.  MGUH is a part of the MedStar Health System and the enterprise-wide MedStar Medical Group Radiology practice.

The Department offers the full range of body imaging services, including growing practices in MRI, CT, ultrasound, and minor procedures.  The successful candidate will help lead our efforts to support a robust and growing body imaging practice while also enhancing our academic mission of teaching and education, our research mission, and our collaborative engagement of other disciplines through outreach, consultation, and multi-disciplinary conferences.

The department utilizes Siemens MRI scanners (including 3T), Siemens CT scanners (including dual-energy), new and modern GE ultrasound scanners (including 3D, contrast, and elastography), as well as PET-CT and several digital radiographic units. A new hospital was completed in December 2023 including a new ER/inpatient reading room and an additional MR, 2 CT scanners, plain radiography, and ultrasound. Over the past couple of years, the practice has deployed new, fast, resilient, and modern cloud-based enterprise-wide PACS, the latest dictation software, and multiple AI solutions that are well integrated into the workflow. The department has a robust enterprise-wide informatics infrastructure to facilitate informatics and AI research and to support other research efforts and quality improvement through data discovery and custom application development.

This position offers competitive compensation and an excellent work schedule with substantial vacation and dedicated academic time. Academic appointment is provided through the Georgetown University School of Medicine at a level commensurate with qualifications.  Requirements include board certification by the ABR, completion of an abdominal imaging fellowship, and eligibility for a District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia medical license.
