Duke Radiology is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Diagnostic Radiologist to join its community-based radiology practice providing dedicated Emergency Department imaging coverage at Duke Raleigh Hospital, part of Duke University Health System. This full-time position offers a predictable evening schedule, no overnight shifts, and full Duke compensation and benefits within a highly collaborative and well-supported clinical environment.

Position Details
- Shift commitment: Average of 10–11 evening shifts per month
- Shift distribution: Approximately 67% weekday evenings and 33% weekend evenings
- Shift hours: 4:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Coverage scope: Emergency Department imaging
- Employment status: Full-time
- No overnight shifts and no call responsibilities

Clinical Responsibilities
- Interpret emergent and urgent imaging studies from the Emergency Department, including CT, radiography, and ultrasound
- Provide timely, accurate reports to support acute clinical decision-making
- Communicate critical and unexpected findings directly with Emergency Medicine providers
- Participate in quality assurance, peer review, and departmental performance improvement activities
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology (ABR)
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina
- Fellowship training in Emergency Radiology or a related subspecialty preferred, but not required
- Strong communication skills and commitment to patient-centered care
Practice Environment
This position is based at Duke Raleigh Hospital, a modern, high-volume community hospital within Duke University Health System. The role is clinically focused, with no research requirement, no mandatory trainee supervision, and no overnight or call responsibilities. Physicians practice in a collegial environment supported by robust IT and operational infrastructure, including integrated Epic EMR and Visage PACS. Both local and qualified remote candidates will be considered, offering flexibility to support a variety of practice preferences.
