Description
Medstar Medical Group Radiology(MMGR) in the Washington DC/Baltimore region is a radiology run health care system practice seeking diligent teamwork-oriented radiologists for an expansion of its Nighthawk Radiology Division. The position is 100% remote and can be performed from any state. The division has been experiencing rapid growth over the last several years. The position offers generous compensation at a lower-than-average shift length (7-8 hours). The practice includes several hospitals/urgent care centers in the DC, MD and VA regions, including a level 1 trauma center.
We are an existing team of radiologists from diverse training backgrounds working collectively. There are never less than 2-3 radiologists on the list at any given time. MMGR provides diagnostic workstations and has 24/7/365 PACS technical assistance and 24/7/365 radiology assistants to contact physicians/providers for critical results and questions.
Three distinct pathways are available depending on candidate preference and practice needs. Evening shifts are 5pm- 1 a.m. EST on weekdays and 3pm-12pm EST on weekends/holidays. Deep night shifts are generally 12am-7am EST on weekdays and 11pm-7am EST on weekends/holidays.
Pathways:
Option 1: 20 Weeks per year: 12 weeks of night shifts and 8 weeks of evening shifts per year.
Option 2: 17.3 Weeks per year: 1 week on 2 off. Deep nights only option fixed at 11pm-7am ET each night.
Option 3: 23 Weeks per year: Evenings only.
Summary:
Main responsibilities include final reads on after hours CT/US, some X-rays, and occasionally MRI.
Preliminary readings may be issued for complex cases or at very busy times.
Shared responsibility for handling questions/calls from technologists and providers after hours.
9-10 RVUs minimum per hour desired. Bonus incentive for highly productive radiologists.
Abundant internal moonlighting.
Can qualify for loan forgiveness program.
Requirements
All candidates must be board certified (or board eligible) and preferably fellowship trained.
Must be licensed in the state where they are reading from and have Maryland, Virginia and DC state licenses.
Compared to other Emergency Radiology shifts are slightly shorter, typically 7-8 hours.
Final interpretations of after-hours CT and ultrasound, with some X-ray and occasional MRI. Preliminary reads issued for complex cases or during high-volume periods.
Shared responsibility for handling after-hours questions and calls from technologists and providers
