Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, invites applications for a Nuclear Medicine Physician/Nuclear Radiologist to join the faculty as part of its expanding Section of Nuclear Medicine. This position also offers the opportunity to serve as Chief of Nuclear Medicine for a qualified candidate with demonstrated leadership experience.
We seek an individual with outstanding clinical skills, excellent interpersonal abilities, and a passion for advancing molecular imaging and theranostics. The Chief will provide leadership for the Section of Nuclear Medicine, partnering with departmental and hospital leadership to oversee clinical operations, strategic planning, faculty development, quality initiatives, and continued program growth across Baylor College of Medicine and its affiliated hospitals. The successful candidate will help expand innovative molecular imaging and radiopharmaceutical therapy programs while fostering multidisciplinary collaboration and academic excellence.
Clinical responsibilities include a full-time commitment to providing comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine services across both public and private healthcare environments. The position offers opportunities for research, continuing medical education, participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards, resident and fellow education, mentorship, and medical student teaching.
Baylor College of Medicine is located in the heart of the Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The Department of Radiology is nationally recognized for excellence in clinical care, research, and education. The Section of Nuclear Medicine works closely with multiple clinical departments to offer the latest advances in molecular imaging, radiopharmaceutical therapy, and precision medicine.
Qualified candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited Nuclear Medicine residency or Diagnostic Radiology residency with additional fellowship training in Nuclear Medicine or Nuclear Radiology. The ideal candidate will have expertise in all aspects of clinical Nuclear Medicine, including general nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, molecular imaging, hybrid imaging, and radiopharmaceutical therapy.
Candidates interested in the Chief of Nuclear Medicine role should demonstrate a record of clinical excellence, leadership, program development, and a commitment to advancing academic missions through education, research, and faculty mentorship. Previous administrative or leadership experience within an academic or large clinical practice is preferred but not required.
The successful candidate will integrate into a collegial and collaborative environment while promoting programmatic growth, exceptional patient care, interdisciplinary research, and educational excellence. Active participation in resident and fellow training is expected. Formal ACGME faculty experience is desirable but not required.
Applicants must be eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license and Authorized User status. Graduating fellows are encouraged to apply for the faculty position; candidates seeking the Chief role should possess appropriate leadership experience.
