Fairfax Radiological Consultants (FRC) is an independent, subspecialized radiology group located in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. We are looking for a fellowship-trained Nuclear Medicine/PET/CT Radiologist to join our well-established physician-owned independent practice, which provides imaging services for a major Hospital system in northern Virginia and over twenty outpatient centers.
FRC provides diagnostic imaging services to INOVA Health System, including INOVA’s Fairfax Medical Campus (IFMC), a full-service 900+ bed tertiary care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center. The campus encompasses the 225+ bed Inova LJ Murphy Children’s Hospital, which has dedicated PICU/Pediatric Cardiac
ICU, 100+ bed Level IV NICU, and dedicated Children’s ED. Additional hospital coverage includes Inova Alexandria, Loudoun, Fair Oaks and Mount Vernon, providing a broad and diverse radiological practice environment.
Candidates would join a team of three full-time fellowship-trained Nuclear Medicine Radiologists, all members of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging, who devote nearly 80% of their work to PET/CT and nuclear medicine. Applicants must possess strong skills in PET/CT interpretation, general nuclear medicine, and radio nuclide therapies. Applicants need to be team oriented and collaborative.
Our radiologists practice at the top of the field, working closely with referring physicians across all medical and surgical specialties. FRC physicians work through a balanced combination of on-site clinical responsibilities and in well-established remote shifts. FRC has separate, robust overnight coverage. Candidates must be fellowship trained and be qualified for medical licensure in the state of Virginia. This position can be structured as either a partnership track or employee track role, depending on the candidate’s preference.
Practice details include:
- Hybrid opportunities with work on site and remote
- 1 in 4 call; approximately one weekend per month
- No overnight shifts
- No neuroradiology, pediatric imaging, mammography or vascular interventional responsibilities - strictly nuclear imaging and occasionally light body shifts (4predominantly ultrasound and CT)
- 2-year partnership track with opportunity to buy into two joint ventures
- 9 weeks’ vacation to start; 11 weeks’ vacation for partners - Signing Bonus

- Highly competitive compensation package featuring a base salary of $450,000–$500,000, plus productivity-based incentives. Additional internal moonlighting opportunities can increase total annual earnings to $700,000+.
