Practice Description
Radiology Imaging Associates (RIA) is the fastest-growing independent private practice in the country. With over 230 total radiologists, including more than 100 who have joined in the past year, RIA is a fiercely independent practice. We focus on resilience through diverse business ventures, multiple income streams, and adapting to technological advancements. RIA remains one of the nation's few true private practice partnerships in radiology.
Our overnight section was established seven years ago and is led by a career night radiologist partner with 12 years of overnight practice experience. The section currently features eight full-time overnight radiologists, including two partners. We offer a smooth workflow, fair expectations, a highly competitive and market-current compensation package, and an unlimited RVU bonus structure.
Job Description & Compensation
- W2 Package: $540,000 base salary (includes a $40,000 401k contribution). W2 radiologists are also eligible for group-vested cash balance plans.
- 1099 Option: Available at $535,000.
- Additional Benefits:
- Unlimited bonus of $40/RVU for volume exceeding 100 RVUs per shift.
- $10,000 technology/CME fund.
- Comprehensive healthcare, disability coverage, home workstation, and licensing costs covered.
- The Schedule: 7 on / 14 off, 8-hour shifts. Choose between 9:00 PM or 11:00 PM ET start. With multiple overnight radiologists on staff, shift trades are easily accommodated. No mandatory extra shifts, though extensive internal moonlighting and "hop-on" shifts are available through our teleradiology division.
Workflow & Technology
- Stress-Free Reading: Benefit from a collaborative environment with 5+ overnight radiologists on shift simultaneously. A smooth, equitable system prevents "cherry-picking" while utilizing refined templates and dedicated tele-assistants to call out critical results and manage incoming phone calls.
- Zero List Management: You are not responsible for managing the queue; automatic backup help triggers when volume rises. This highly efficient setup allows readers to average 15 RVUs/hour, with the potential to scale up to 25 RVUs/hour for those looking to maximize earnings.
- Case Mix: Majority CT, followed by XR, US, and MR. Complex MR studies can be deferred to daytime or subspecialist readers. Time-based value units are utilized to ensure fair case distribution.
- Our Facilities: Contracts are primarily with rural, non-academic Level 2 and 3 trauma centers and stroke centers. No preliminary or international reads.
- IT & Tech Stack: Enjoy 24/7 in-house IT support with immediate remote assistance. Our system features AWS and Azure cloud hosting for exceptionally fast remote connections.
- Standard Tech Stack: Fujifilm Synapse, PowerScribe, Clario worklist, and RadAI.
- Future Tech: We are currently co-developing proprietary software in partnership with VytalMed and Mecha Health AI, integrating advanced computer vision AI to drive upcoming productivity gains.
Culture & Perks
- Connected Culture: Stay connected and avoid isolation with an active group messaging chat used for casual banter, clinical second opinions, and general camaraderie.
- Work-from-Vacation: When not in use by partners, complimentary luxury destination properties in Lake Tahoe (Nevada), Utah, Hawaii, and Georgia are available for you to work from.
- Experience & Mentorship: Prior post-residency experience is preferred, but highly talented recent graduates are welcome. Dedicated mentorship is available.
- Partnership Track: A partnership track is available through our teleradiology division, Select Radiology Solutions. This track involves adding 9 weeks of weekday evening shifts, which can be swapped for additional overnight shifts if preferred.
