Description
Position Overview
Medical Scanning Consultants, PA is seeking a motivated, patient-centered teleradiologist to join a rapidly growing, physician-led outpatient radiology team.
This role offers flexible remote work, outpatient “bankers’ hours", absolutely no call, strong work-life balance, and highly competitive compensation. Out highest-producing radiologists exceed $1,000,000 annually.
About Medical Scanning Consultants
Medical Scanning Consultants, PA provides professional radiology services for RAYUS Radiology, a nationwide operator of outpatient imaging centers. Our practice has grown steadily and significantly, creating a surplus of high-quality outpatient volume and professional revenue.
A successful recruit can hit the ground running with an ample referral base, stable case mix, and favorable payer mix.
We are not simply looking for RVU-generators to cover a worklist. We get to know our teleradiologists personally, consider them an extension of our core team, and take pride in the camaraderie we have built. Our definition of success is clear: a fully integrated imaging platform that is mission-aligned, scalable, and clinically credible.
About the Position
Our teleradiologists read primarily, and often entirely, within their own subspecialty. Our current priorities are body imaging, especially routine outpatient workups and oncologic imaging, but our volume is growing rapidly, so all subspecialties are welcome.
The only non-negotiables are that the candidate should care about the patient behind the pixels and respect the clinician’s time. Reports should be thorough but concise, and always clinically oriented.
Participation in mammography, PET-CT, and nuclear medicine may be available but is strictly optional.
The role can be structured to fit the applicant’s needs and preferences. We gravitate to 1099 arrangements with per-wRVU compensation but are happy to provide W2 employment, pay-per-click rates, compensation as percentage of net receipts, or base salary with production bonuses.
Why This Role Is Different
This is a remote outpatient radiology position with no call, no hospital dashboards, and no emergency department grind. Because we are nearly 100% outpatient, the vast majority of cases are routine and predictable (which certainly benefits the radiologist’s throughput).
This gives remote readers substantial flexibility over their schedules. As long as turnaround times and quality expectations are met, readers have meaningful control over when they read and when they step away.
Vacation and time off are also highly flexible, provided the team communicates effectively and coverage needs are handled responsibly.
In short, we offer an unusually strong balance of work-life, autonomy, and compensation.
Typical Case Mix
A typical day for a body imager might include 50–100 outpatient cases, depending on comfort level, primarily CT, ultrasound, and MRI, with a much smaller proportion of radiographs and DEXA.
A spine-focused reader’s worklist will be weighted more heavily toward MRI, radiographs, and CT.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for radiologists who are clinically strong, efficient, dependable, and collegial. The ideal candidate values clear reporting, practical communication, professional reliability, and a high-quality outpatient imaging environment.
This is a particularly good fit for someone who wants the benefits of remote work without feeling like an isolated commodity reader. We are building a cohesive radiology team with shared standards, strong communication, and a long-term growth vision.
We value radiologists who take ownership, communicate constructively, and want to be part of a group that is growing thoughtfully rather than chaotically.
